Episode 6 – What It's Like Working for the PPBC with Christine Get A Life – Ex-Cult Conversations

    Summary

***This episode contains discussions about suicide. Viewer and listener discretion is advised.*** Walk with us as our special guest Christine describes her experience working for a multitude of different PBCC companies. Her astute observation of the disgusting treatment of women- often treated as second class citizens, or as lesser humans is so spot-on with what so many of us who have left the PBCC have described. Christine was never a PBCC member so it is enlightening to hear her describe the abundant use of alcohol by very young children, the attitude of young PBCC men in the workplace and the huge pay discrimination between members & nonmembers. Not a shock to ex-members of this cult but a huge shock to those who have never had this first hand experience.

    Summary

Lara invites us into her harrowing story while inside the PBCC. She recounts how she tried to get help regarding her abuse and how she was even sent to Maple Creek! At the time Lara’s abuse was happening there were 23 members and of those there are potentially 10 children as victims of sexual abuse. She takes us through what it was like to be a female within the church and how “women were slaves”. Her heart wrenching story on the day she left, brought us all to tears as we all knew of the pain she described. We dive into the leaders promise of the rapture and the lies covered up during a split in the 60’s called Aberdeen. Could this have been the open door for abuse to be so widely accepted? • Episode 3 – The PBCC and Religious Trauma (with Pam Danylchuk)

    Summary

Pam Danylchuk dives in on what it was like to leave the cult and their misogynistic policies of the PBCC. She describes the painful memories of how the cult publicly made fun of her father for a serious medical condition. We talk about religious trauma and the abuse that happens, their lack of sexual education and how much its needed to correct their issues. Cheryl gives us more insight into what happened to her as we bond over shared traumas. The best part is the joy Lane and Pam exude of finding each other.

  • Episode 2 – What are The Klondike Papers? How does the PBCC influence Canadian politics?

    Summary

Richard Marsh takes us through his role in the Klondike Papers and leads us into a heated discussion on politics and the PBCC. The PBCC will not allow its members to vote, and claim to have no interest in politics. Indeed, as a registered charity, they cannot legally engage in political campaigns. We peel back the veneer of lies to show how the PBCC  has become by far the most influential cult in Canadian politics, using its members to give targeted donations to political causes on demand, and how they were intimately connected with Stephen Harper’s election campaigns. We also give you a heads up on Jesse Brown’s new podcast series “Ratf*cker” which will be a fruitful romp through the legendary “Klondike papers” leading on to the even darker crimes committed in Maple Creek.
